  • This has to be one of the best Castles I have ever visited. It has not been "spruced" up or sanitised. The owners have done a remarkable job of restoring their home and sharing it with the public. As ...  more »
  • I have wanted to come here for such a long time but it was not the best I have been too. The grounds were lovely but the castle was a little sad and cluttered and looked like a lot of it was just put ...  more »

  • Wow wow wow what an amazing place to visit. So much to see in every room. Stunningly beautiful walled garden. Coffee shop small but high quality products available, even though it was busy the service was fast and efficient. The dungeon was so interesting and depicted the subject well. Well worth a visit
  • Great castle. Last castle where King Edward staged his army before the killing of William Wallace. Great venue for Ghost adventures... extraordinary gardens, fantastic guides.
  • We were lucky enough to spend three nights here for a special birthday treat. It was magnificent, set in remote countryside, but within reach of other places of interest. And no, (un)fortunately we didn't experience anything unusual.......
  • Great day out exploring the castle and grounds lots of interesting things to see. The torture chamber in not a place to go for the feint hearted. No spooky goongs on when we were there. Not a place to take babys in pushchairs as there is a lot of uneven places and lots of winding staircases.
  • Eclectic mix of everything you could possible imagine in a wonderful, lived-in setting
