  • This is a fascinating c17th building, which is really the symbol of Abingdon. Unfortunately, both it, and the museum were closed under the COVID -19, and have yet to reopen.  more »

  • Starting with cafe in basement, loved that it had a pamphlet on it's history available to read whilst having coffee and cake. Staff very nice. Museum well laid out with very clear information to the exhibits. Loved that they ranged from the Silver to the everyday wooden Trenchers. Had lovely informative chats with the Staff, one of whom was able to recommend a good book for me from their selection ( good selection he just saved me some time). I didn't go on the roof as it was freezing cold ( mind you after Worcester i am banned from most rooftops ;) ) so look forward to doing that on my next visit.
  • Really nice museum, free entry and loads to look at.
  • This is a good museum for its size. It had a cafe in the basement and interesting local exhibits. There is even an ichthyosaur skeleton found locally on display and an mg sports car. The view from the top is fine especially if the guide is there to point out local points of interest, such as the original jail and medieval gate. Well worth a visit as the building itself is unique. Also not far from the Thames footpath.
  • Interactive and interesting, but unfortunately you are not allowed to make pictures inside. There is an amazing view from top, but you have to pay 2 pounds per person for that.
  • Very interesting museum, with very knowledledgable staff.
