  • £2.00 well spent ( for the parking) to watch nutcases in wetsuits jumping into the beautiful turquoise waters of this lagoon. Its like a chilly Acapulco! Easy access for all, well worth a visit as att...  more »
  • Already on the road in the area of Wales and has seen photos of the "lagoon", you will very probably also really see and experience. It's not a true lagoon but an abandoned slate pit. This break has a breakthrough to the sea and the water level fluctuates depending on the tide. As in many other places in the United Kingdom a Mecca of Cliff jumping is called also "tombstoning" here. Usually, the instructors group is exemplary equipped with wet suits and flotation device. The season isn't just one of these groups is but almost always multiple and that from early morning until the early evening active. Then another "ordinary" visitors come to this. Already, the whole area is completely overrun and there's hardly a place to put up. There is just the rubric "totally busy insider tips." Who wants to enjoy the views of the sea and the beauty of the surroundings outside, the climb to the Abereiddy promontory fort. There it is disturbed only by goats and sheep and can contemplate in peace, enjoy, or have its own coffee. This is a real dream. The lagoon itself has it then on the way back in a few moments "checked off."

  • Great to be able to walk to it direct from the parking on the beach and is disabled friendly in most parts. Car park is full of pot holes so be careful where you drive when parking especially if there...  more »

  • The Blue Lagoon is a beautiful and interesting place at once. It's worth spending a while, exploring this former quarry and the beautiful, colourful slate plates that show all kind of interesting pattern, because they are rich in iron which is corroding/rusting on the surface. We also encountered a "Coasteering" group which was fun to watch. This is definitely a great place for such kind of activities if you are adventurous.
  • A beautiful place to visit with your family and pets. There's a large carpark not far away. This place is very special to me. One of my very first dives in West Wales. After a couple of very strenuous walks back and forth to our van we finally managed to get all our gear by the lagoon. No other divers were there. So we had it to ourselves. Visibility was not bad. We managed a 40 minute dive. Lots of life under there! We managed a maximum depth of around 20 metres if memory serves (must check my logbook). If you are planning on diving here, I highly recommend taking some form of trolly with you! Well worth a visit. Will go back on day.
  • A beautiful little cove, mostly hidden and you'll miss it if you aren't lookin for it specifically. nice relatively calm water and is often the site of cliff diving competitions. Good access, with a concrete path most of the way that offers access for users with limited mobility. Nice place to watch the sunset from
  • Car park is not the best and although the path to the pool is set for wheelchair access the toilets are up a set of steps? Otherwise a very nice place and we are glad to have visited.
  • Beautiful location, we visited in February so out of season with plenty of parking. A nice coast walk round to Porthgain too
