It's not much to see here, you can spend maximum an hour walking around. The book shop is a little cute shed ( I am always impressed by the NT second hand book shops). The coffee shop is really cute i...  more »

Nice tranquil place with a little history centre. You can spend a couple of hours there including the tea room (which we didn't visit) or have a picnic. Only recommendation I would say is the building...  more »

  • Local history of the old tin works. Bit pricey but could easily spend the day therw of nice weather. Shop and tea rooms on site.
  • Only live in the Brecon area, and never knew that this place existed. Really breath taking falls, it's a pity that the water wheel was not working
  • Beautiful place, however, quite small. The tin works are quite interesting and make sure you take a look at their little informational video in the turbine house. The price, however, is 50p more than advertised and for the price of £5.50 their really isn't much to see. If you take your time then maybe you can spend an hour to an hour and a half here.
  • Great activities for the kids, beautiful mix of nature and industry. Accessible, with lifts to all levels.
  • A great all weather attraction. We visited the works on the way home from Pembrokeshire on quite a wet and miserable Monday morning. We were treated to the river in full flow cascading down the falls. After parking up on the small carpark, crossing the road we entered the very modern visitor centre, before moving onto the site proper. There is a small museum with an interactive display with characters who worked or lived near the tin works explaining what their lives were like (my girls were very taken by the girl who only attended school once a week...) and another building explaining how the water wheel generates electricity. You can clamber around the ruins and eat at the old school house cafe, which still has artefacts from its days as a school house for you to nose at. My children loved it. I'm very glad we visited. My only regret was that we could not find any sticks to throw into the river. This is an epic Pooh stick venue...
