Seaton Park, Aberdeen

4.4
Seaton Park is located in Aberdeen, Scotland and is one of the city's biggest parks. It was bought by the city for use as a public park in 1947 from Major Hay.The River Don passes along the edge of the park. There is a beautiful flower bed area that is maintained to a high standard with new flowers planted every year, and also a secluded set of walled gardens next to a small (private) housing mews called Seaton Stables. The park is often used as a cut through from the University of Aberdeen students to get from campus (via The Chanonry, alongside St Machar's Cathedral) to Hillhead Halls of Residence, in spite of warnings from University authorities to be cautious due to the lack of street lighting.Aberdeen Football Club often train on the grass pitches in the park. Much of the park is in poor condition due to flooding and seepage.

  • Huge but quiet park. There is a playground for kids to enjoy, walking along the river is so refreshing. It is located a bit away from city centre but great place for picnic day out or reading/napping afternoon. It would be good to combine University of Aberdeen visit, walking distance.
  • Seaton park is is under rated and often forgotten about .... their have been lots of improvements made to it over the past few years which has significantly improved the park. The play park looks great and the summer planting is beautiful. The fact that it's connected to the river don is a bonus. You can do a great circular walk from the bridge of don along the river into the park and back again
  • Awesome park for kids and adults alike. Also some great places to walk you're dog
  • A beautiful park. Excellent place for families with kids. Clean environment and friendly atmosphere. Very spacious and very safe. It was a great place when sun was shining :)
  • A really beautiful park which has undergone many renovations over the years. Lovely park for jogging, walking, cycling etc. Students walk through here from Hillhead to University of Aberdeen.
