  • It has been 4 months since my last visit to Scotland. Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, etc.;and it is Aberdeen that lingers in my memory. Nothing in Fife compares. Car-"nasty" is almost tame compared to the ou...  more »
  • The first 9 holes of Royal Aberdeen large dunes are the best of Scotland, along the coast on the right and on the left high terrain make that holes are spectacular, very narrow and high pastures in the dunes, very demanding. The second 9 are very different from the ida already that turns over laying ground, but good overlooking the sea for being higher and lower. A large field of golf.

  • 6th oldest golf course in the world! Very beautiful.
  • Very good golf course
  • Great links golf!
  • Royal Aberdeen was a tough course even on a relatively calm day in June, and it is easy to see why it has been chosen for the Walker Cup this year. The Clubhouse is not the most welcoming of places, but this is more than made up for by the course itself. After a relatively straightforward first hole, the course just gets tighter and tighter through the first nine. I definitely want to play it again when I am next up in this part of Scotland.
