  • We went into the tropical houses where I had last been over 30 years ago. Just as I remembered - exotic, magnificent, most enjoyable way to spend any day but especially a wet Saturday.  more »

  • Lovely big grassy Park, great for dog walking. There is a playground for kids and a big greenhouse with tropical flowers. New cafe opening soon too
  • This to me is the best park in Aberdeen. Situated on the banks of the river Dee it boasts a range of outdoor gardens from ornamental to wild. It has a large open area used for dog walking and by various sports groups. It hosts a wide variety of events including the Clydesdale Horse Show, Opera at the Park, camping shows, Royal Horticultural Society shows. Situated within this park are the Winter gardens. These are the all weather indoor gardens featuring a variety of types of plants situated within themed, linked greenhouses. from hothouses to my fave, the cactus gardens. A special shout out has to go to Spike the talking cactus. If you visit during certain times he will wake up, look at you with his one beady eye and interact. With 2 car park and the most amazing playparks (makes me wish I were a child again) this Aberdonian feature is definitely worth a visit.
  • Lovely open air park. Good play areas for children, good for bigger kids to cycle around, plus during summer months you can hire pedalos on one of the ponds. Has been undergoing a period of refurbishment. Only downside are some inconsiderate dog owners.
  • Great park for kids and adults as well. There are 3 playgrounds for kids. My boys love that park
  • Lovely park being restored by the Friends of Duthie Park. Boasting no less than three play areas for children, the Winter Gardens for thawing during cold walks and the wonderfully nostalgic bandstand, there is plenty to occupy a family here. Lots of friendly dogs and equally amenable owners to be found wandering around the paths and playing fetch in the field.
