  • In many ways a rare survival of grand Victorian planting run by a city council. Laid out in a figure of eight, the glasshouses include seasonal displays, temperate and tropical houses, fern and arid houses, along with inner courtyards filled with flowers. Even more impressive is the free entry. A cafe has seating inside the fern house so it can be enjoyed more leisurely; and there are children’s activities at times in the greenhouse classroom. Perfect for families and lots of parents were enjoying it with their younger children. Likewise, some were just sat on a Coalbrookdale Fern and Blackberry bench (of which there are many dozen) reading in a quiet spot.
  • Absolutely fantastic place. So calming and soothing especially in the cactus habitat. Great to go at any time of the year. As it is indoors the weather doesn't matter. Great for all ages. It can also be a really soothing place for people with autism and high stress levels to calm them. On fine days the outside grounds are good places to have family fun and play. Many people also use the grounds as a running circuit. There is also a great play area for children which was revamped a couple of years ago, this is down at the lower level car park.
  • It is an absolute delight to visit the winter gardens, there is always so much to see. There are different sections to visit and sometimes the staff are available to ask questions. The displays change quite frequently so you can visit fairly regularly. I love coming here it is always special.
  • Great place to go especially when the weather is bad and too cold. There’s tropical garden which is really warm. There are so many different kind of plants all over the world. Carnivorous plant, desert plant, Victorian corridor, Japanese garden to name a few. The Japanese garden was the only part that was a little disappointing as it was but well maintained. There’s a huge lovely cafe attached to this building too. Definitely must visit if you are visiting Aberdeen.
  • Absolutely beautiful place! Beautiful seating area for a marriage ceremony! Well maintained and staff are lovely! Highly recommended for a free day out with the kids!
