  • This square has a statue to the Gordon Highlanders regiment and is was good to see it. The square itself needs to be cleaned, but it has some nice architecture.  more »
  • The Mercat Cross really is the only item of interest at the Castlegate, and most of the time it's surrounded by junkies/winos. There's dodgy pubs and bookies nearby. Nothing worth going here for. It's...  more »
  • Went there to see the Mercat Cross, a must for unicorn lovers, and to see the Gordon Highlanders statue, a must for Gordons! Loved both and it was wonderfully not crowded. Ate at the Old Blackfriars a...  more »

  • Rapidly expanding chain of bars. This is Aberdeen's 2nd and probably the better one for new customers, though the original tends to have more 'dedicated' customers. Good beer selection, and the attached bottle-shop means a large number of guest beers are available.
  • Such a worthwhile experience to enter into the Brewdog universe. The beers are delicious, food is reasonably priced and the staff is very helpful. I hope I can come back some time soon.
  • Great beer and potentially good burgers except current health regs oblige the chefs to cook the burgers to hell and back. If you want yr burger rare or medium rare or even medium, forget it. Any decent place will break these stupid rules and serve you a rare burger if that's how you like it. If the mince is not pink ie grey they shouldn't be using it anyway. So 1 star for their rock hard, over-cooked, follow-the-stupid-rules burgers. Otherwise, nice place.
  • The draft beers available here get better and better, both Brewdog's own creations and the guest brews. If you're particularly picky then the bottle shop should have something close to what you are looking for. Enjoy some Brewdog in the place where it all started.
  • Great food options, some of the best in the city, and although the beer options are good, they are usually lacking. Not a lot on draught usually, and although you have a good selection of beers for sale in the bottle shop, it can become expensive because it isn't the cheapest to begin with, and the "corkage" charge adds up...
