Survey the rainbow of colorful fabrics on display at Textile Souk. Cotton, embroidered fabrics, and raw silk are among the various cloths found at the market. Decorative extras to adorn outfits, such as buttons, lace, and sequins are also in abundance. Even if fabrics aren’t your thing, consider taking the water taxi to the market, which gives you panoramic views of the surrounding neighborhoods. If you do take a taxi, remember to negotiate; prices are rarely static. Work out when and for how long to visit Textile Souk and other Dubai attractions using our handy Dubai itinerary planner.

Where to stay in Dubai

Dubai is a city of hotels, with most of the world's leading chains represented. Rooms remain expensive and luxurious, as most establishments cater to visitors with deeper pockets. You can still save money on accommodations if you look hard enough. Move away from the coast for more affordable backpacker hostels and self-service apartments, as well as less expensive hotel rooms where a lack of luxurious amenities and less appealing views keep rates suited to budget travelers.

  • Interesting visit to our first souk. Not far from Dubai Creek. Tons of atmosphere and a huge range of fabrics and clothing. The best part was exchanging a laugh with the extremely persistent sellers a...  more »
  • There was a lot of confusion and people trying to sell whatever type of textile in whatever way, even putting it around the neck while walking. At the end we found a nice shop with a bit of quiet as w...  more »
  • I came to see the area and was not expecting to buy anything. Nice to walk through, but the sales folks, while nice, can get a bit borderline harassing. After awhile I just pretended I was on my phone...  more »

  • Traditional bazaar-style shops that showcase a wide variety of Arabic, Indian and oriental clothing with wholesale options. Additionally, one also finds a variety of spices, traditional incense and handicrafts from a bygone era. Be warned though: One needs to be a savvy, street-smart shopper with a knack for bargaining and conversant in local language (Arabic, Hindi, Urdu etc) in order to make the best deals ;)
  • A good place for business people. Wholesale fabrics in good prices
  • Best retail shops of uae
  • A lot of the stores sell similar or the exact same items for varying prices, but the vendors are unwilling to match the better price that the guy across the street is advertising. Nice wares to be found for good prices, but not the best shopping I've found. There are some extremely kind and helpful shopowners to be found here.
  • Be they are having good market
