Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple, Dubai
(4.7/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web)
Admire the traditional Sikh form of architecture at Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple, the first Sikh place of worship in the Gulf region. Opened in 2012, the large complex is inspired by the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Southall, London. It serves Dubai's Sikh community, followers of the dharma that originated in the Punjab region of South Asia. The central dome measures 18 m (60 ft) in diameter, arching over the large, carpeted prayer room. Admire the delicate traditional grill that covers the parikarma (the path through the temple), and round out your visit with a trip to the onsite restaurant, serving classic examples of Sikh cuisine in a bustling dining hall. Put Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple into our Dubai itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • For a school project I visited the Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple together with a colleague. We were surprised by the warm welcome of the employees of the temple. They gave us a very informative tour through the temple, we could ask everything we wanted to know. After the tour they gave us some food to try from the buffet. The temple is really beautiful, it is a 40 minute trip from the city centre but it is really worth it!
