Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple, Dubai

#4 of 8 in Historic Sites in Dubai
Religious Site Tourist Spot
Admire the traditional Sikh form of architecture at Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple, the first Sikh place of worship in the Gulf region. Opened in 2012, the large complex is inspired by the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Southall, London. It serves Dubai's Sikh community, followers of the dharma that originated in the Punjab region of South Asia. The central dome measures 18 m (60 ft) in diameter, arching over the large, carpeted prayer room. Admire the delicate traditional grill that covers the parikarma (the path through the temple), and round out your visit with a trip to the onsite restaurant, serving classic examples of Sikh cuisine in a bustling dining hall. Put Gurunanak Darbar Sikh Temple into our Dubai itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

Where to stay in Dubai

Dubai is a city of hotels, with most of the world's leading chains represented. Rooms remain expensive and luxurious, as most establishments cater to visitors with deeper pockets. You can still save money on accommodations if you look hard enough. Move away from the coast for more affordable backpacker hostels and self-service apartments, as well as less expensive hotel rooms where a lack of luxurious amenities and less appealing views keep rates suited to budget travelers.

  • An excellent place for anyone to go. A very well organized place. It is a little on the exterior but it is a worth while trip. Really appreciate the work done. There is a lot of effort put into this. You get all days three times a day food.
  • Place of worship. Peaceful and celebration of diversity... Open to all and very generous. Meals served all day long, everyday...
  • Waheguru ji ka khalsa shri waheguru ji Ki fateh...... this place god house here I come ND I feel I am relax ND feel problem less
  • The one and only Gurudwara in UAE. Beautiful location excellent architectural view also. Silent place to meditate and prayer.
  • I had decided to go to Gurudwara Sahib as I was fascinated by the photographs I had seen on whats app. The place is much more enchanting than seen in photogaphs. It is very calm and peaceful. Suggest travelers to have langer (free meal) there. The nearest metro station is Energy Metro Station/ Ibn Batuta Metro Station. I would like to bring the management's attention the following aspects: The staff in the gurudwara (especially security - gate 2 and bhai jis - offering prashad) are not at all welcoming. In fact I found them rude- who did not even bothered to respond to your wish (even when you are travelling with your family). Also, suggest to have a shuttle from energy Metro Station to Gurudwara for foreign travellers.
