History Museum Museum
See another side of Dubai at Al Fahidi Fort, detailing the history of the city and its people. Located within the grounds of a former fort--built in 1787, it is the oldest existing building in Dubai--the museum tells the story of trade and development in the city before the discovery of oil. Explore the main galleries for interesting exhibits and artifacts showing the local way of life, with particular focus on the 1800s and the independent traders and seafarers that lived in the port city at the time. Enjoy walking around the life-size replicas of family homes, a model mosque, and a recreated street market. • Dubai museums might not seem very significant, but they are especially bright give opportunity to understand what a giant step has made this State. The story, which not so long ago was the reality of the country, strikes. Bedouins and lovtsy zhemchuga for 70 years have passed an institution the way. It was very interesting.

  • Dubai Museum gives a very vivid picture of the history of Dubai - sometimes leisure missing but in the hustle something all to read that. But also then you will get an impression of it, how quickly Dubai has changed in recent years. The impression is deceptive: If you look at the Fort, it is a very small museum. However, the largest part of the collection under the Earth - is located and it is thus there also slightly cooler than outside.

  • If you have time in Dubai, one should look at this museum. Not always, Dubai was like today - in the Museum shows the history. For children and adults - no dry museum visit is lovingly made.

  • Good place to visit. Takes couple of hours to complete. I asked for a guide as said to be available in the website. They gave such a srare that as if I were an alien species.
  • Nice place with interesting exhibits. You can spend few hours here if you want to read all the descriptions and see everything. You can learn about history of Dubai, and about life of Arabs before the oil. I would give 5 stars if all the descriptions were readable. Some of them were poorly lit, some were worn out. Still most of them were good. Worth the visit.
  • An underground museum representing the Old Era of Dubai. All memories are prepared in realistic sculptures with related sounds at every place. A must visit place with low entry cost.
  • Awesome museum. It has a lot of history in store. A visit will be expository
  • It also the famous Dubai Museum. A must visit of you aren't in Dubai. Also you can stroll through the old market near by

Where to stay in Dubai

Dubai is a city of hotels, with most of the world's leading chains represented. Rooms remain expensive and luxurious, as most establishments cater to visitors with deeper pockets. You can still save money on accommodations if you look hard enough. Move away from the coast for more affordable backpacker hostels and self-service apartments, as well as less expensive hotel rooms where a lack of luxurious amenities and less appealing views keep rates suited to budget travelers.
