  • Excellent place to walk the baby, have a cold drink, use the pristine toilets and enjoy the scenery. Some very welcome shade (yes, even in March it was 35 degrees!) not many people, mostly young famil...  more »
  • With free entry and parking there's plenty of grass to run around on here. The massive pond has little boats for hire which look so picturesque. The evening Ripe Market makes this a top attraction wit...  more »

  • It's nice place for kids and people who like to spent their time in leisure walking and running. There is a dedicated running track for 1.5km. You can have a mini picnic the park allow people to bring food from our side and to have it inside. There are rented bicycles are available for fun.
  • A brilliant park. The running track is great, the kids play around is really cool. They have 6 aside football pitches and basket ball courts. Lots of room to relax. The organic market that is there on the weekend is brilliant
  • Al Barsha Pond Park is a beautiful and well maintained park in the centre of Barsha. It has a big artificial lake with boating, a 1.5km jogging track, cycling track, tennis courts, basketballs courts and nearly every type of outdoor sports infrastructure like exercise equipment, fitness machines, etc. There is a dedicated kiddies play area and has cycle karts for hire including small boats. It has public bathrooms and several fresh water fountains for drinking as well as a small shop and cafĂ©. On Fridays and Saturday's there is a food market and on Saturday's also an Organic market. Friday's is an off day and the park is normally packed. There is ample parking on two opposite entrances. One can see the Al Barsha Mall and it is easily accessible from the far side. Dogs are not allowed and the grass area is perfect for picnics, birthday parties, etc. We used the park daily for training and there were several other group fitness activities also happening like aerobics, etc. The park reminded me very much of our Green Point Park in Cape Town which has similar features but not all.
  • Very relaxing environment. Good if you want to relax or get into sports like soccer, basketball, tennis. Also family inspired by having kids to play in a playground with swings and slides. Nice place to do yoga or stretch.
  • Nice park for family and kids. We went there quite a few times with family. Also went there once for our office outing with some activities arranged by some activity company. You can get free football pitch with real grass. But you have to come to the gate at 5 am in the morning and wait till 7 am when the security guard comes to book the field for the same day. Pretty painful.

Where to stay in Dubai

Dubai is a city of hotels, with most of the world's leading chains represented. Rooms remain expensive and luxurious, as most establishments cater to visitors with deeper pockets. You can still save money on accommodations if you look hard enough. Move away from the coast for more affordable backpacker hostels and self-service apartments, as well as less expensive hotel rooms where a lack of luxurious amenities and less appealing views keep rates suited to budget travelers.
