Covering an area of 1,200 hectares (2,965 acres), the oasis and surrounding plantations are home to more than 147,000 date palms of 100 different varieties. Follow the shady pathways and take in the greenery and tranquility. • The legend says that this oasis is sitting on top of one of the largest oil reserve in UAE, well that's what some people would say, what I can say though is this place is like a portal to the past. We went to Al Ain for a weekend vacation and brought our bicycles with us, thankfully, we were allowed to cycle inside that's why we were able to see a lot of areas in this huge oasis of palm trees with traditional irrigation. Though ti's hot, almost all of the area are shaded because of the palm tree leaves. Try to visit here with a bicycle if you want to cover more areas because walking would take too much of your time.
