Explore one of the most essential aspects of urban infrastructure at Al Ain Oasis, a peaceful urban oasis--literally. Known for its below-ground falaj irrigation system, with sloping underground channels transporting water from the main source to key areas, the site possesses an agricultural, historical, and biological importance. Recognized internationally as a significant heritage site, the irrigation system dates back some 3,000 years, and many of the palm plantations here still function as farms. Covering an area of 1,200 hectares (2,965 acres), the oasis and surrounding plantations are home to more than 147,000 date palms of 100 different varieties. Follow the shady pathways and take in the greenery and tranquility. To visit Al Ain Oasis on your trip to Al Ain, use our Al Ain travel route planner.

Maybe I was expecting more but the Palm oases did not quite deliver what I had hoped for. The palms are divided into quite small enclosed spaces that you are free to walk into but they are limited... more »
Perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. Come for a stroll, go to the back yard of the museum where you have this beautiful palm forest to stroll around and to unwind! Recommended for.... more »
We visited over lunchtime. It was pretty quiet. We hired a 2 seater pedal cart for 30 dirham for 1 hour. A bit small for me at 6ft 1 inch. The oasis is not huge so on reflection we could have walked..... more »
Do go there if you have time. It's just a walk between the palm trees. You can really see how the water management been done and distribution of water to different owner palm trees. You can step on to the fields and fetch some oranges too. It's a big farm and they provide bicycle too on rent. Food court also available. A good walk if you like walking.
An enchanting place ,as never seen before. The palm trees farms extend on both sides of the well paved pathways ,for 10 kilometers. The rich greenery and the tall trees provide shadowy retreat unmatched in beauty and tranquility. A must see place in Al Ain.
Fantastic spot in Alain. A large area of greenery where you can see different varieties of palm trees. it will be a relaxing trip during winters. Be prepared to walk long as there is a wide space to cover.
I really enjoyed the Al Ain oasis. Don’t expect more than a small compartmented palm tree forest. But the place is quite magical when you think you are inside the desert and this used to be a miracle of life. The light filtering through the branches is beautiful as well.
Good relaxing place with cool breeze always. Full farm with water flow, nice area to take pictures. A must visit place and it's a long walk.
