Where to stay in Abu Dhabi

One of the most expensive cities in the world, Abu Dhabi is famous for providing an unparalleled level of luxury. The modern development of Yas Island offers some of the priciest options in the city. Abu Dhabi doesn't really do hostels, but you can find some less expensive hotels in side streets less frequented by foreign visitors. Head away from the sea to find lower rates, or consider the areas south and east of the airport for simple rooms with basic amenities.

  • The village was opened to the public in 1996 and is administered by the Emirates Heritage Club . It was intended to reflect the identity of the Emirati people and their traditional life in contrast with the fast growing modern life there. The village stretches on more than 1600 square meters. Its corners tell the story of the past through small models of all the everyday life details that the ancestors had had before oil. In one corner of the village, you can see the life of the people who live by the sea and how they adapted to that kind of life. You can see the sea and how small local fishing boats were made. You can see lots of the see tools that were used in fishing. In another corner, you can see the farm life and how the ancestors used small canals for irrigation . If you move forward a little bit, you will see a traditional folk-market with some little shops of so many local handcrafts made of leather, wood, copper and glass.
  • Nice stop to learn more more about the culture. We had a guide, so it was worthwhile. Several small shops to purchase items from true craftmen. They are not pushy at all. The beach is lovely. Take time to enjoy the view.
  • Not alot to see here in terms of heritage apart from some old photos and tents. The place does have a very nice beach with beautiful blue water. very relaxing. some restaurants are here too and the entrants is free. avoid going during the day as it gets super hot and hard to walk over the sand. short opening times too check before you go.
  • Very run down and thy put a rope in the camels nose witch I don't agree with not well maintained at all
  • The Craftsmen are amazing. The village is fun and interesting. The souks have some lovely items for sale. I love the old fishing boats on the beach. It's my favorite view in Abu Dhabi.
