5/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web
The Pripyat amusement park in Pripyat, Ukraine is an abandoned amusement park. It was to be opened on May 1, 1986 in time for the May Day celebrations but the plans were interrupted when on April 26 the Chernobyl disaster occurred a few kilometers away. The park was opened for a couple of hours on April 27 to keep the city people entertained before the announcement to evacuate the city was made. Today, the park, and in particular the Ferris wheel are a symbol of the Chernobyl disaster. The amusement park itself is located behind the Palace of Culture in the centre of the city.

  • I went on a one day your with Solo East. It was incredible, moving and very definitely worth it. If you do only one thing when you go to Kyiv do this
  • I visited the park as part of tours from the Agency "Chernobyl Wel come" and it's an experience of a cell's life, I have no words I could describe. It's just you have to go in there, take a dosimeter in the hand and you have to spend it there. It is something which should be great for the once in a lifetime look.
