  • A small but charming museum. Lots of great Greek artifacts with english explanations. Worth the 50 uau.
  • Lovely old building housing excellent exhibits. Unfortunately undervisited. Has special exhibit with gold and silver coins from antiquity. Descriptions are in Ukraine and English
  • It was interesting to see the display of archaeological findings dating so far back in the history of Odessa and the surrounding areas. As a previous reviewer mentioned, each section has a Russian, Uk...  read more »
  • Interesting collection. I was surprised by the mummies and ancient Egyptian sarcophagi in great condition. Don't miss the gold room (if you can't find it ask a guard, it might be locked when no one is around)
  • The most part of the collection is about neolithic cultures and old greek city-states on the territory of Ukraine. Overall I liked the collection, but the workers who sell the tickets try to cheat: they take the tickets which we have bought, tear them and instead of giving the full ticket, they give back only a half of a ticket. Clearly, the try to sell a half of the tickets twice and put the money in their pocket. So it is interesting to go to the museum, but insist on getting the full ticket back!
  • Great interesting Museum, which contains many artifacts of bygone eras. Interesting and the Museum building, built in the year 1883 and represents a magnificent example of classical architecture. The main contribution to financing the construction of a museum made out of their personal savings of Odessa City Mayor Gregory Marazli.

  • An interesting Museum, visit worth it. A good antique Exposition, Hellenistic statues in full growth. The largest in Ukraine the Egyptian exhibit mummies of humans and animals. Wonder presented the Hall of primitive era, with layouts of settlements.

  • I read the reviews about this Museum, a lot of very negative reviews, roughly: "guides louts", "buy a ticket at the box-office with watching the Golden room and there not allowed or morozâtsâ" As I did: Went to the Museum, the cashier politely greeted and asked what me a ticket, with a visit to the gold room or simple I took with a visit to the Golden room, politely showed where examination begins and how to go. My goal was not only to view the Museum but also to photograph as soon as I got out the camera when the Museum came up to me and apologizing asked if I have a ticket for the photography, had to buy a ticket, but again it was polite, nobody nagrubil. Well, if fotat′ on the phone I think questions of supervisors won't arise. In general I'm fascinated by count skipped past the "gold room" and so would not have got there if not a keeper of a museum which has caught up with me and asked what's my ticket I showed her, and she asked what I missed "the gold room" and not visited, in general due to the smotritel′nice of the Museum I got there. There's nothing wrong about the Museum can not say some positive emotions.
