  • The Russian gate together with the Polish Gate were used for flooding of the Canyon of the river smotrich. Cross the Canyon walls and gateways were made. When floodgates were closed, the water rose and the fortress became unassailable. A very interesting solution.

  • Together with the Polish gate in 1550, the Russian Gate were merged into the original hydraulic fortification. Enemy attack reflected also through the water. When the floodgates of the Russian gate was closed, the water level was raised and solicited additional water hazard for the enemy. And if the attacks were to sudden, first gate quickly opened, the Turks there everyone and then quickly closed the gates and zastosuvalas water through the locks. We reach the water trap. Unfortunately, locks and dam have not survived to the present day.
