  • Got a lot of impressions. Citadel built soundly, nice walk inside. We were accompanied by a guide, said Vitaly are so interesting that even my teenage son, who is not a particular fan of excursions, listened to opening the mouth, and later harassed me issues. Liked the humor of Vitali, when he said that because Kozaki didn't fill the moats vodoju on its traditions of warfare, during large raids sometimes watered logs in the ditches of melted lard. To my surprise the answer ", the vipadok, life dorožče nìž fat!")) all in all, highly recommend the trip.

  • Who does not know the history, he has no future) Reconstructed wooden fortress above r. Sejm, where from 1669 to 1708 g. was fortified residence of three Ukrainian hetmen: d. Mnohohrishny, i. Samoylovich, i. Mazepa. Baturyn fortress consisted of external urban earthwork with palisade and a Citadel (Castle), where there was a residence of the Hetman. Here was this stone and wood House Hetman voskresenskaya Church, entry gates and three towers. In 1708 g. all structures Baturyn fortress were totally destroyed during the punitive expedition of Russian troops under the command of Menshikov. In memory of Baturin tragedy, during which it was destroyed almost the entire population of the city (5-6, 5 thousand military, 6-7, 5 thousand civilians), in 2004, on the site of the North-East Tower of the Citadel installed a Memorial Cross. From the observation deck of the overgate Tower opened best panorama of the Valley.

  • Citadel Baturyn is one of those places that just points of interest. Despite the fact that it is not the original building, reconstruction was performed with maximum approximation to reality and you have the opportunity to see how the look of the fortress and other buildings until their destruction forces of Peter I in the 17-18 century. You can walk across the territory, both independently and with a guide. It all depends on your preferences. And in either case, it will be interesting. Once you get to the territory of the Citadel, immediately plunge into the historical atmosphere of the place. Very colorful and beautiful. Recommend
