#1 of 15 in Trails in U.S. Virgin Islands
Get far-flung at Point Udall, the easternmost point of the United States of America. Admire the sundial monument erected in 2000, marking the location where American soil first sees the sunrise. The vantage point offers sweeping views around the island, as well as blue, reef-laden waters along the coast. From the monument, follow an unofficial trail of medium difficulty to the point. • Starring out across the vast ocean is really calming. The point is beautiful. Sunrise is memorable here.  more »
  • I actually climbed down one of the paths to the ocean. It was amazing. You can actually feel the power of the ocean down there. It was a steep trek down and the climb up was tuff but totally worth it.  more »
  • Farthest eastern point in the United States. Stand in the cool breeze overlooking the ocean and watch the sun rise out of the water. A must see when you visit the island.  more »

  • A must visit spot for anyone vacationing on the island. The scenery and view never gets old, regardless of how many times you visit. As the Eastern most point of the United States, you can stand and look east in wonder at the mesmerizing blue waters, knowing there is absolutely nothing due east until the continent of Africa. From Point Udall, there are very clear and defined trails you can walk to Jack's Bay, Isaac Bay, and other bays with postcard views. Fun fact, the westernmost point in the US in Guam is also named Point Udall, after the other Udall brother.
  • Eastern most point if the United States. The Millennium Monument is impressive to see and a great feature to photograph either at sunrise or sunset. Many people will be here at Sunrise at certain Holidays during the year in the US so they can be first to celebrate! The trail head to Jack and Issacs beach is just down the hill from here. Be sure and take plenty of water as the nearest store is Ziggy's.
  • Cool place, exceptional views of east end of St. Croix and Buck Island. Hike down to Isaacs Bay. If you can manage it get out there for a sunrise. You will be the first in the US that day to see it.
  • The area was very clean when we went. The views are amazing, and worth multiple trips. If you get there early, you can watch the sun rise over the ocean. Afterwards, we parked in the small parking lot near the entrance and hiked down to the Isaac bay, which is also stunning.
  • Get up early and watch the sunrise at the easternmost point of the U.S. (including territories). Easy drive - keep the ocean on your left going out on East End Rd. beautiful drive also. Can't miss it since East End Road and dry land pretty much end at Point Udall. While you're out here, if you feel like a hike, the trailhead for Jack and Isaacs Bay is close by. It's all beautiful, remote and rugged - very much worth the drive if you love panoramic views and nature.
