Mahogany Run Golf Course, North Side

(3.7/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Tee off a few rounds at Mahogany Run Golf Course, the only golf course on the island. Try holes 13, 14, and 15 (aka "The Devil's Triangle") for a real challenge. Designed in 1980 by golf architects George and Tom Fazio, the course covers 44 hectares (110 acres) and is also a hotbed for indigenous nature--if you're lucky, you may spot some mongooses, iguanas, or black-billed parrots roaming around. Head to the bar and restaurants for refreshments after you've worked up a sweat. If you haven't brought your own gear, the course offers cart and club rental. Make Mahogany Run Golf Course a centerpiece of your North Side vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our North Side trip itinerary builder.

  • It's an experience playing Mahogany Run. Obviously the three signature holes, Devil's Triangle, are the star of the show. Course is fun to play!! No beverage service on the course but a good grille at...  more »

  • Very well maintained par 70, 6008 yard course, with a number of challenging holes. I went the day after a rain storm, and the bunkers were soft and the tees and greens firm. The Devil's Triangle is a very tricky set of three holes, that is sure to take a ball or two from you. Cart, and clubs for two people was $440, and includes four sleeves of balls, as well as a little booklet with details on how to best play each hole. Greens were challenging with varying speeds, approaches, and curves. I highly recommend this course. Club memberships are available for locals. Be sure to mention any other club memberships as they might earn you a discount.
  • For $125 the course is extremely overpriced. The tees and fairways are in awful condition as were the greens. The course layout is such that you have many blind tee shots. We left after 6 holes it was that bad. Also a word in the taxi give another customer commented. We too asked for a taxi back to the hotel. The point here is pre-arrange your taxi ride home. Our taxi has working door handles but when going for my seatbelt the driver said "don't work, just hold onto it." The car could do a max 5mph going up moderately steep hills. Turning corners the car creaked so bad I was worried either the wheels or the entire axles would fall off. Again arrange your own taxi pick up back or let the course handle it and take your life in your hands.
  • If you are looking for a place to play a round of golf after your day trip. Mahogany Run is the spot for you. I have had several guests enjoy this course.
  • The staff was so friendly. I was there on a non cruise ship day and felt like I had a private GC. The greens were excellent.
  • Absolutely worse golf course we have ever played! Not just while on vacation, but ever. WAY overpriced!! If you want quality golf, this is not your place. Spend a few more dollars and go to Puerto Rico and play. The fairways (if you want to call them that) were hard as a rock and very little green grass. Nothing would stick on the greens; like asphalt. We rented clubs and they were marginal (WELL used). Most "fairways" were severely tilted one way or another. Several of our shots rolled from off one side of the fairway, completely across the fairway and OB on the other side. Extreme rip off of money. Will NEVER play it again. Then they called us a "Taxi". Basically some dude in an old beat up piece of crap car. The door handle came off in my hand...must have been one of their buddies.
