Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Learn about the Caribbean's pirate-filled past at Skytsborg Tower a.k.a. Blackbeard’s Castle, a lookout tower located on a historical site. Built in 1679, the tower reaches a height of 12 m (40 ft) and has walls 1.8m (6 ft) thick, allowing excellent visibility of, and protection of, incoming enemies. Nowadays, the top of the tower offers extensive views of the town and its harbor, while downstairs you'll find three sparkling swimming pools. Plunge into the water to relax after a long day spent plundering the high seas. Blackbeard's here too, in the form of a 4.2 m (14 ft) bronze statue. See Skytsborg Tower a.k.a. Blackbeard’s Castle and all Charlotte Amalie has to offer by arranging your trip with our Charlotte Amalie trip itinerary maker.
