Market Square, Charlotte Amalie

(1.8/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Stop for a spot of bargain hunting at Market Square, a colorful flea market with plenty of souvenirs to take home. Serving as a produce market and community meeting venue for nearly two centuries, the square first appeared on maps as early as 1836. The market remains a bustling spot for vendors to sell their wares-- peruse your way through items ranging from St Thomas tees to potatoes. Haggling is expected so find something you like and start chatting to one of the friendly vendors. • Nothing more than a kind mercadão, situated in the northern part of the "Main Street" of Charlotte Amalie. Are several stalls selling fruits, foods, drinks, clothes, costume jewelry, ' souvenirs ' and handicraft articles. By the way, is always full of people haggling on your purchases. No more, all very simple and popular.

  • It's an excellent place to start your sightseeing adventure in Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas. There is plenty to do and see from the Market square.  more »
  • Shop under the colorful canopies of the local merchants. Make your best offer for that item and bargain, bargain, bargain! Parking, however, is at a premium.  more »

  • It's crazy to think how old some of these places are. Ask questions while you wonder. The history will resurrect itself.
  • Great historical landmark .
