Turks & Caicos National Museum, Grand Turk
Categories: History Museums, Museums
Learn about Grand Turk’s local and natural history at Turks & Caicos National Museum. Set inside a quaint, white, two-storey building, the museum houses items related to Cuba’s nautical history. On the ground floor, find the remains of a 16th-century shipwreck, the original lens of the Grand Turk lighthouse, and a 3D exhibit of a coral reef. The second floor is dedicated to the history of the island’s early settlers, the Taino people. Find a replica of the Taino paddle made from driftwood, which will give you an idea of what sea life was like for the indigenous population.
