Built on foundations dating back to the Byzantine Empire with a felling former site structures, stretching from Castle Hill above the city to the shore of the Black Sea. The Castle consists of three parts namely Upper Castle (Yukari siege) and Castle (Horta siege) and lower Castle (ashki siege). The upper Castle was their responsibility to protect the stronghold (City) and served as the Acropolis. And believed that the castle was built as the first building in 2000 BC. Remember some early sources having the ruins of structures such as the track, Tower, the bathroom and the Palace. The castle was subjected to various modifications throughout history. The high castle walls are higher than the other parts. Some scripts can be seen inscribed alnkaesh flag of the Ottoman Empire, which are found between the walls of the Castle, in the Museum of Trabzon. Central Castle built by Alexios II of Trebizond (1297 – 1330), is a continuation of the upper and lower parts.
