Sirince, Sirince

(4/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Walk down the narrow cobblestoned streets of Sirince, lined with women selling the handicrafts, organic food, olive oil, and fruit wines the village is famous for. Typical Greek residences from the 19th century house locally styled interiors. Look for a restored Orthodox church in the courtyard of one of them. Legend has it that the small village, settled by freed Greek slaves in the 15th century, was originally named Çirkince or "ugly" in order to keep newcomers away. The governor of Izmir Province changed the name to "pleasant" in 1926. Using our custom trip planner, Sirince attractions like Sirince can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Learn about wine village accidentally. I read an interesting story and the origin of the name of the village. The road from the city of Izmir is by car in around 1.5 hours. There is a parking where you can leave your car without any problems. Streets are narrow, just for hiking. Be careful, because the village is in a mountainous area streets are steep and it is not advisable to wear heels or platform (hard climb). Very good introduces village with a local touch Turkey and traditions. Many families in the village, which transmit inherited his business in wine production. Virtually every home you will treat and you will be able to purchase wine for your taste (cherry, peach, raspberry, grape). Each House is unique, very high quality cotton products. There are no Grand Bazaar where you can buy everything you wish (souvenirs, products made from olive oil, stuff, grass). Of course, this village is worth it! In the evening you can relax with a delicious meal in the cafe, which here! you everywhere will be happy and good-natured. Not all speak English, but quickly can find someone who will understand you. Even if you don't speak in Turkish and English, sign language which is understood by all and the good soul of the Turks will help you around. And as fragrant smoky hookahs (nargile) that everywhere will help you relax after a busy day. There are also a lot of hotels and all cosy with different, nor its history.
