Greek Amphitheater, Side

Be transported back to the culture of antiquity at Greek Amphitheater, one of the well-preserved highlights of the Side ruins system. The mighty theater was originally constructed in 2 CE, boasting a seating capacity of 15,000-20,000--making it one of the largest of its kind in the Ancient Pamphylia region. Although some of the stage area has collapsed, the construction provides a vivid insight into life and entertainment millennia ago. After exploring the historical construction, take time to appreciate the views of the ruins complex as it sits amidst the surrounding countryside and the sea. There are special paths for visitors, but these are not particularly well-maintained; sensible shoes are recommended. • I personally found the amphitheatre very interesting. If you don't like this sort of thing, then don't go. There isn't much here but at 20TL it is worth it. I do feel that there should be more informa...  more »
  • A wonderful place to visit. Getting we go there alone on the minibus. Types of simple chic. Road to the amphitheatre runs through the ruins of ancient city. So the history you can touch with your hands the amphitheatre amazes imagination. Breathtaking, when perestupaesh on the ancient stone steps and understand what happened here many centuries ago. There are such places that you don't want to leave-this is it! And, of course, cool photos are provided.

Where to stay in Manavgat

Despite being a prime tourist destination because of its neighboring waterfalls, the town of Manavgat offers little in the way of accommodations. Instead, consider the coastal town of Side, just 2 km (1.24 mi) southwest of Manavgat. Here you'll find many options, including four-star resorts and mid-range hotels along the sandy beaches. The cape is home to more budget-friendly options--a handful of hostels and guesthouses. Stick to the cape to be within walking distance of restaurants, while not being too far from Manavgat. The waterfalls sit directly north of Manavgat, so allow for a little more travel time if you stay in Side.
