Greek Amphitheater, Side

Categories: Ruins, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 1,700+ reviews on the web
Be transported back to the culture of antiquity at Greek Amphitheater, one of the well-preserved highlights of the Side ruins system. The mighty theater was originally constructed in 2 CE, boasting a seating capacity of 15,000-20,000--making it one of the largest of its kind in the Ancient Pamphylia region. Although some of the stage area has collapsed, the construction provides a vivid insight into life and entertainment millennia ago. After exploring the historical construction, take time to appreciate the views of the ruins complex as it sits amidst the surrounding countryside and the sea. There are special paths for visitors, but these are not particularly well-maintained; sensible shoes are recommended. Side very much comfortable and if you close your eyes and don't say that we očenn′ in Turkey similar to Greece. Attracts and captivates ... Will definitely return.

  • From a visit to this place, I was disappointed. For such a high price, I was expecting something more than only the columns and views on the fence. Auditorium I lacked informative signs and any other artifacts that detail for the creation and the highest glory of this place.
