  • The monument was built by Augustus in honour of Gaius Memmius some hundreds of years after building the monument was transformed into a fountain.

  • During the excavation of the inscriptions were found, indicating that the building was built on the initiative of the wealthy people of Ephesus on the names of Memius in honor of Roman dictator, nephew of Sola. It is square in shape and well preserved.

  • bottom half of monument remains-some of the stone work is quite stunning. good for photos. old ruins.
