Patara Beach, Patara
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Immerse yourself in the secluded atmosphere of Patara Beach, known for its soft sand and clear sea. The 18 km (11 mi) long beach reaches a width of 300 m (100 ft) in some places, making it one of the largest in Turkey. Sea turtles often lay their eggs in this protected area. Amenities, even if somewhat basic, include cafes, showers, and restrooms. The depth of the water increases gradually, making it a popular swimming spot for visitors of all levels, as well as kids. Avoid the area when the wind picks up, however, as the beach can be exposed to large waves, and swimming can become dangerous. With our international travel planner, Patara attractions like Patara Beach can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
