Explore ancient thermal spas and take a dip yourself at Hierapolis, a World Heritage Site. Originally a thermal spa in 2nd century BCE, the Greek ruins of baths, temples, and monuments are still visible today at Hierapolis. Visit the on-site Hierapolis Archaeology Museum to see tombs, monuments, and ruined theatre artifacts. Nearby Pamukkale is a diverse arrangement of hot springs--some for swimming and some for scenic appreciation. One notable area, sometimes referred to as Cleopatra's swimming pool, features a set of tiered travertines on top of which bright aquamarine water gathers. • A swim in the ancient pool (Cleopatra's pool) is a must. Just so you can say you've done it! I suggest arriving as early as possible too! We were the first and only ones swimming for... about 5 minutes... until a bus load of people rolled in.
  • History in all its grandeur. One cannot help but marvel at this great historical structure. Just imagining how it must have been there in old times with kings and princes and their subjects sitting all around on these steps is invigorating.
  • Beautiful site. The whole place is really nice. A bit expensive for locals and super expensive if you want to swim in the natural pool next to it. but the sunset in this place was magical!
  • Better than I expected. Everyone shall see this city. Amphitheater was nearly perfectly preserved and necropolis was gigantic.
  • Amazing historical site! Even if you feel indifferent to it, it will leave you in awe! Make sure to visit amphitheatre and latrine buildings, it's the coolest looking structures!!! Bring head cover and go early as there is very little shade and you will be walking around a lot if you want to make most of it!
