View artifacts and artwork from the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantium, and Ottoman eras at Marmaris Museum. Located in a restored castle on the hills, the museum has two archeology lounges, one ethnography lounge, and a host of art galleries. The archeology lounges display earthenware and traditional jars, glassware, coins, and ornaments retrieved from different digs in the area. The ethnography lounge has woven tapestries, carpets, furniture, copper kitchen pieces, and weapons. Learn about their history through information boards posted in English and Turkish. Climb to the upper level of the museum for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Note that you will be asked to check your bags with an attendant at the door. Be sure to call ahead or use the website for current opening hours. Plan to visit Marmaris Museum and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Marmaris attractions using our Marmaris tour planner.
