Set among the reed-lined river delta, Dalyan serves as a starting point for the exploration of Lycian rock tombs and the ruins of the port of the ancient trading city Caunos. Carved high above the river in the rocky cliff stand the windswept facades of tombs dating from 400 BCE. A short boat trip across the river takes you to Caunos, a major trade port in the 5th century BCE. Miles of sandy beaches, including the famous Turtle Beach, offer sunbathing and swimming opportunities. Taste some of the local delicacies, such as blue crabs, in one of the many restaurants along the river. Add Dalyan and other attractions to your Marmaris trip itinerary using our Marmaris travel itinerary maker.
