Oymapinar Dam, Manavgat

4.4
#3 of 6 in Parks in Manavgat
One of Turkey's largest arch dams, Oymapinar Dam draws the admiration of architecture lovers with its elegant design and scenic location. Just a short drive north of Manavgat, the structure includes unique design features that provide it with extra strength and stability. The immense force of water pushing the massive dam into the underlying rock compresses the concrete and makes the structure extremely strong. Nearby you can also visit two major waterfalls, where you can take a boat tour on the Manavgat River or hike the surrounding mountain scenery. • On one of the 4 ships we spent about 5 hours, or do not know how quickly it has passed. We were on the boat Canyon 1, first we went to the Grand Canyon almost to the end, where it was to see such a small vodopádik. Water is completely green, opaque, at times it was a white spot-there's some custom mineral spring. The river is zahryzla to the rocks and cruise through Rocky gorges and majestic mountains was breathtaking, the photographer have come on their own. Two breaks for a swim, water such a fresher, but not cold, maybe up to a depth of 1.5 m for the children I recommend plávaciu vest. For lunch we stopped at a terasovitej restaurant, but since we were already ship in order, so we strolled through dirty garden dining room. Instead, fittingly noted that when we don't get anything here, so never again. When I saw that after ordering drinks they started spratávať after the previous campaign, I had glasses taste to order some hard liquor. Unfortunately, alcohol is strictly prohibited in this Canyon, so I would recommend just because of a little small, virtually total hygiene. Apart from that, a great trip, feel a bit messed up for a morning transfer, because we went out and collected gradually from other hotels in Belek we Slovač, over 2 hours. Already, about 50 min drive back company.

Where to stay in Manavgat

Despite being a prime tourist destination because of its neighboring waterfalls, the town of Manavgat offers little in the way of accommodations. Instead, consider the coastal town of Side, just 2 km (1.24 mi) southwest of Manavgat. Here you'll find many options, including four-star resorts and mid-range hotels along the sandy beaches. The cape is home to more budget-friendly options--a handful of hostels and guesthouses. Stick to the cape to be within walking distance of restaurants, while not being too far from Manavgat. The waterfalls sit directly north of Manavgat, so allow for a little more travel time if you stay in Side.
