Find traditional Turkish souvenirs, including porcelain kitchenware, colorful mosaic lamps, and decorative fabrics at Tuncer Gift Shop. What was once a small store has grown into one of the city's most famous shops in just a little over a decade. Its merchandise takes up five showrooms, organized according to theme. Browse through pots, plates, and cups in a wide range of shapes and colors at the porcelain exhibit. Move on to the textile and carpet section and purchase traditional shoes or view decorative rugs. If you like Turkish jewelry, check out the specialized jewelry area. Put Tuncer Gift Shop and other Istanbul attractions into our Istanbul travel itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

We were staying at the neighbouring Sirkeci Mansion Hotel. Whenever we passed by the shop, the shop owner would greet us pleasantly and invite us in. We checked around for prices from the Grand Bazaar...  more »

I am from the tourist, want to buy some souvenirs, saw this store on the TripAdvisor rating is very high, so he'll have a closer look. Also see other gift shops on the way, in contrast, first of all, this shop is very complete, not to mention there are two chain sells the gift shop, this shop has two floors, in other gift shops can be seen here. On the price, I think many reviews of my friends will want to shop in places it will be too expensive. In fact, I really saw in the distant gift shop priced lower, but this shop: 1. Can be one of the lowest in the surrounding area; 2. And far too expensive compared to the gift shop is not how much, let alone there may be quality differences; 3. Make an offer, the price is even more attractive. In addition, because the range, where shopping is more convenient. Staff are very friendly, carefully explained, had not been forced to buy mean. No matter what, will be carefully wrapped with bubble bag, don't have to worry about flying. Featured Mr Nur, speaking fluent British English, patiently explaining and service and shopping experience is very good. Buy a lot of souvenirs, a worthwhile trip. ---Too long comments too directly to the last friend, a word of advice: come here to buy!

  • Expensive for sure, but they're friendly. I like that they're not pushy salesmen. They own a couple of shops on the street. There's one further down just for jewellery and tea sets.
  • Wonderful place! Great choice of gifts, fantastic welcoming atmosphere, strong coffee, best customer service ) Many thanks to Canan!
  • Spacious shop with a lot to offer. Good prices, no need to hassle much, and the staff are very helpful and they speak English well. Good place to buy lamps, scarves, pillow cases, etc. So much quieter than the bazaar, and much less crowded.
  • Pretty expensive. I don't understand why all the positive reviews, but prices here are bloated.

Where to stay in Istanbul

The bustling downtown core of old Istanbul is the popular choice among tourists wanting a short walking distance to the city's biggest attractions. Here you'll find hostel-style accommodations and reasonably priced and traditionally decorated hotels, as well as bed and breakfasts and inns with views overlooking the sea. Though often the most affordable, accommodations in the old city can be very overrun with tourists and street solicitors. If you seek a more relaxed stay, consider lodging near Taksim Square. This new, trendy neighborhood is a short 15-20 minute ride from the old city, but puts you closer to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Though the newer area of the city is a bit more upscale, you'll also find moderately priced hotels and some hostels. Look for luxury hotels in the western suburbs close to the airport, overlooking the banks of Bosphorus.
