Pierre Loti Tepesi, Istanbul

(4.2/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Take a break from busy sightseeing with a visit to Pierre Loti Tepesi, the place where the locals go to relax and soak in a magnificent view of the city. The hill overlooking the Golden Horn is named after a French novelist and naval officer, the author of the semi-autobiographical novel "Aziyade" in which he described the city. On the hilltop, in addition to the scenic views and peaceful surroundings for walking, you can also find a good selection of coffeehouses and restaurants, many of which offer the authentic atmosphere of old Istanbul. If you're not driving, use the cable car to reach the viewpoint; it operates from the foot of the hill. • Always want to sit once already and a çay like to drink with amazing views of Haliç. ... we are with the City Ferry. from the left side of The Galata bridge you walk a little way along a car park and a bus terminal and you will see a small dark brown terminal cottage ' Haliç hatti ' called. Then you sail criss cross over the Golden Horn what is already a great experience in itself. The great thing about this location is that you also can visit the Eyup mosque and a cable car ride, you can make it to the Pierre Lottie mountain to then slowly right through a centuries-old cemetery down within walking distance. You can feel free to skip Central Eyup there is not that much. The square around the mosque is extensive.

  • You will find in the cemetery of Eyüp on their backs, two-storey wooden mansions full entry is made takes its name from Pierre Loti hence by tourists than we have known is a tea garden. Cleaning of the Golden Horn with dirty water has beautiful views of the Golden Horn from the coastal type shipyard, Topkapi Palace features a panoramic point of view such a beautiful area. On a weekday afternoon is a nice place for coffee at the same time. If it is packed on the weekends.

  • This place is magical, although a bit creepy. It's on top of a huge cemetery, so you can either walk up the stairs through the tombs or take the cable car. We walked through the place and, even though it can be a bit morbid, it was just interesting to see how they remember their loved ones that have gone. When you get to the top the view is just unbelievable. Highly recommended!
  • A wonderful place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea while viewing Istanbul from top. Take the telefrik - cable car- from behind Eyup Camii.
  • Amazing view. Absolutely must visit! The cafe itself seems not so interesting not to mention it is small inside but the terrace seats are nice. Quite a photo spot!
  • The best location to have a breakfast.
