Pera Museum, Istanbul
(4.6/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Get lost in the art-filled halls of Pera Museum, whose numerous galleries put a special focus on Orientalism in the 19th century. The building itself took over the space of the old Hotel Bristol, founded in 1893, and was renovated to feature a Victorian-era facade. On the first floor, stop to admire collections of colored tiles and pottery, as well as Anatolian weights and measures. From here, continue upstairs to see more than 300 works by European, Ottoman, and Turkish masters, including Osman Hamdi Bey. Several exhibits change regularly, so look for something new each time you visit. To visit Pera Museum and other attractions in Istanbul, use our Istanbul itinerary planner.

  • The Museum is small but if you have the time, go. There are interesting paintings. Wait on him a lot, then the impression is good. Submitted 19 century painting. The building itself is also worthy of attention. Construction of the late 19 century. A former hotel. Was built with inherent in those days.

  • Does intresting events. The colour scheme on some translations difficult to read
  • I could give a full grade for its 'wheel chair user friendly' facility. The mover at the ground floor and the elevator saved us to enjoy the museum. Every floor have a different theme, and I and my sister liked it. Not a big museum but full of interesting art pieces.
  • Very poor exponates. this is not art. This is 10 bad pictures of turkish leaders and 5 old cups.
  • Yerde galerinin hangi yöne doğru izlenmesi gerektiğini gösteren ok işaretleri olmalı. hiçbir uyarı olmadığı için sondan başladık gezmeye.
  • Love the place
