Where to stay in Istanbul

The bustling downtown core of old Istanbul is the popular choice among tourists wanting a short walking distance to the city's biggest attractions. Here you'll find hostel-style accommodations and reasonably priced and traditionally decorated hotels, as well as bed and breakfasts and inns with views overlooking the sea. Though often the most affordable, accommodations in the old city can be very overrun with tourists and street solicitors. If you seek a more relaxed stay, consider lodging near Taksim Square. This new, trendy neighborhood is a short 15-20 minute ride from the old city, but puts you closer to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Though the newer area of the city is a bit more upscale, you'll also find moderately priced hotels and some hostels. Look for luxury hotels in the western suburbs close to the airport, overlooking the banks of Bosphorus.

  • Don't waste your if you have limited time in Istanbul. We went there and there is nothing special in this mall even prices. Will not do it again.  more »
  • You could find a good deal for sport wear. The location is easily to reach by Tramvay than the metro bus  more »
  • Olivium website language is in Turkish only and not available in English which isn't helpful for the outlet visitors.  more »

  • This is a "mall" that was built as a big outlet for the leather products of the local sellers. However they turned it in to a mall as the land prices made it more valid to keep it that way. That's the reason why the whole place feels like a maze, as it wasn't built as a mall. However the shops here are plenty, affordable, with a decently priced food court.
  • I like the place. don't go if you're looking for international brands, you may find Turkish brands in general. In my opinion, new shopping mall in Istanbul has more options with similar prices.
  • Foreigners might like the way the products are being displayed in front of most of the shops; however the place is pretty cramped. The cinema upstairs has strangely distributed saloons which might be confusing at first and it requires people to walk around the shopping mall to get where they need to be.
  • Very interesting mall. huge shopping centre. it was very clean and the prices were reasonable for everything there.
  • I don't want to tell! This mall has so many good stores and prices. I've gone to over a dozen malls in Istanbul and thus I know, this malls got the deals
