We’re a few Istanbulian students who grew up and we take pleasure of living in this vibrant city.

We are not professional guides, we are just young and fun locals, who will make you consider us as one of us, rather than a guest. Therefore, you can feel the amateur spirit and the fun of it. You can see us like friends of yours, who live in Istanbul and who want to give you a total different experience of the city.

Give us a chance to give you a genuine adventure right in the middle of Istanbul.
With our world travel planner, Istanbul attractions like Locally Istanbul can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • I used Locally Istanbul for 2 tours during my visit to Istanbul in April. Their personalized service and attention to detail were extraordinary. We had email contact before my visit so they could customize the tours to my interests. I took the Bohemian Istanbul tour with Erk and the Asian side tour with Umit. Although the weather on both days was bad they were able to turn both days into memorable experiences. They both are very passionate and knowledgeable about their city and excellent hosts. They have contacts with local guides to arrange visits to the more touristy sites (which I did) and can arrange airport transfers for you. Highly recommended for those travelers who want to go a little off the beaten path.
  • Umit was a super guide and I would recommend this company to all visitors. We enjoyed both the bohemian and the Asian side tours. It was well organised and thoroughly enjoyable!
  • Awesome....and the tours were more than awesome. It was great to meet Umit and learn about Istanbul and have a new friend!!! Hope to see you in the near future. We did 3 tours over 6 days in Istanbul with Umit and Pinar. Old city... Bohemian.... and Asian side. What a way to explore the city and then venture out on your own. Umit is an outstanding guide and gave us so much historical and insight to his city...this is one tour you DO NOT want to miss. We went to many places the average tourist would never experience. çok teşekkürler my friend. David & BJ
  • I wanted something different that an ordinary tour could not quite offer. I asked the guys to put something together that took in the Istanbul art and food scene that tourists would not normally deliver. Umit not only nailed the brief, but was also super helpful and constantly went out of his way to make sure that I had a fantastic taste of Istanbul. He also quickly picked uo what I liked the most and was flexible with his tour to accomodate things that would interest me. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.
  • My girlfriend and I took Locally Istanbul's Old City Tour on March 18th. Our guide Pinar Caglayan was amazing; she tailored the experience to our interests, knew what times to go to beat the crowds, and fit in even more places than the tour had promised. Her depth of knowledge really made the sites come alive, and she told us lots of interesting historical facts I didn't read in any of the guidebooks. She obviously really loves Istanbul's architecture and history and it was like having a very intelligent and patient friend take you around to all their favorite places. Pinar showed us all over the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, and the Basilica Cistern, as well as her favorite mosque (the Nuruosmaniye has amazing carved and gilded calligraphy) and favorite places to shop at the Grand Bazaar. She also made recommendations for our subsequent trip to Cappadocia and gave us her email and phone number in case we had any questions or problems. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Istanbul and more than worth the very reasonable price.
