  • It offers connections to Japan from Italy. Transit 7 hours.... You can use the euro fine coin is rejected. ... Said 4.1 euros fine, if motamotacite "4 euro do', rather appropriate. Shop open 24 hours, so tsubusemashita time than I thought. Truck ice and 6 euro, funny and looking at buying expensive, but many thanks for performance.

  • Good range of products but expensive. You can use Euro or credit cards to buy staffs. Not an ideal place for shopping but useful when you're on the go and need to buy something urgently.  more »
  • Duty Free normal. What's funny is that even at four in the morning we had the impression that he was fifteen hour seen activity there.

  • Just awful! They sold us an expensive packet of nuts with the claim that they were roasted, not raw. But when we later opened the package they were clearly both raw and stale. We tried to return them for credit only to be told by the manager that these were "roasted" by Turkish standards! Meanwhile he stuck his hand into our package, which was unsanitary. Altogether a very insulting and unpleasant encounter and not the way we wanted to end a two week trip to a fascinating country. Buyer beware! This is not a good Duty Free shop.
  • One of the worst duty frees ever. Euro is used as the main currency at the duty free, HOWEVER if you give them a EURO based credit card the POS machine adds extra commission amount. To avoid the commision you have to accept their euro to lira conversion rate and pay in lira and then they would not charge commission.
  • Mainly for me I like there turkish coffee and the Turkish delight offers
  • Good duty free shop - good choice of cosmetics, including exclusive fragrances and skin care. Price is not higher than other duty frees of Europe. Tobaco (wide choice of sigarets) are much cheaper than in European Duty frees.
  • Even if you don't buy anything, it is interesting only to look around the exotic Turkish-islamic products.

Where to stay in Istanbul

The bustling downtown core of old Istanbul is the popular choice among tourists wanting a short walking distance to the city's biggest attractions. Here you'll find hostel-style accommodations and reasonably priced and traditionally decorated hotels, as well as bed and breakfasts and inns with views overlooking the sea. Though often the most affordable, accommodations in the old city can be very overrun with tourists and street solicitors. If you seek a more relaxed stay, consider lodging near Taksim Square. This new, trendy neighborhood is a short 15-20 minute ride from the old city, but puts you closer to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Though the newer area of the city is a bit more upscale, you'll also find moderately priced hotels and some hostels. Look for luxury hotels in the western suburbs close to the airport, overlooking the banks of Bosphorus.
