Gulhane Park, Istanbul

(4.5/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Once an outer garden of Topkapı Palace, Gulhane Park at one time was opened only to the sultan and his harem. Today you, too, can picnic under the shade of trees that date back to the 1800s. Visit a hillside teahouse at the far end of a verdant avenue for views of the bay. On the western edge of the park, the former stable houses the Museum of the History of Science and Technology. Look for the Goths Column, dating from Roman times, which honors a Roman victory over the Goths. Amenities include a big, renovated pool and many kiosks selling snacks, drinks, and ice cream. • This Park, I advise to visit in April, many tulips, delight the eye with a riot of colors, not worse than in Holland. Always park in the shade, even in the summer heat are cool and working fountains. Located close to the old city of palaces next stop, if you go by tram. When strolling through the park were as before here hiked Hurem Sultan, or Sujleman.

  • Apart from being much of a historic property is not a park. Years ago in İstanbul, there was a sense this zoo park but not so meaningful today. Park in front if a sorting between brownhills does not take place. If you are in the blue area on a hot day, you can go to sit under the trees.

  • It used to be that I've been to a concert here. Then of course, I was young and although I've never been bothered too crowded. And now the quiet peaceful and quiet nature prefer places I can be for the most part. If it happens again kabool concert here but now Istanbul in the mix, this is a nice park where you can escape the hustle and bustle of ...

  • Nice park for a stroll and take in the variety on offer. Lawn has been completely replaced and the flowers are blooming madly. Particularly loved the stork nests high in the trees.
  • Love this park. It offers shadow in hot summer days. In the evening the flowers smell like in paradise. They have small caffee with great views here. You can imagine how sultans walk here:)
  • Ja, it was okay. Would be good to enjoy the sun in but only worth going out of your way for if you're there to see the science and tech museum.
  • It is a very lovely park. There was a large presence of police officers. They were checking people going in and out. Felt very safe. A gem in Istanbul.
  • I love this park..walk to the end and go up to have fresh breath with sea view..drink hot tea in the freezing weather
