  • The largely unknown Islamic faith branch of the Dervishes (they even say Mawlawi) is explained here in a small museum. Found information on the teaching of literature, to the dances (the trance to create God and closer to be the souls of deceased), religious items and the turban. Anyone who reads through the English explanations, is far smarter than 99% of humanity.

  • I recomend to visit this museum and know more about Dervishes and Sufism. 2 floors and many rooms to visit. Highly recomended.
  • Istiklal Street is a place Crowd trying to stop by when I get out, noise and chaos of the city a little bit to beat a retreat from a beautiful garden. When I stopped by it's very quiet and calm, except for the visitor much performance shows. We got together with our guests, we went during the week, we enjoy the silence in the garden and quiet, very beautiful and peaceful a historic and religious sites. The building itself is a cute cats are also very nice. Here a very wide range of information about the history of the spiritual treasure. I recommend to those interested.

  • Bring a small towel, and wash your feet. A perfect place to rest and cool your feet after or before walking Taksim + Istanbul. Connect at this small retreat by washing your feet at the fountain.
  • If you want a unique cultural experience, buy tickets to see the Whirling Dervishes perform at the Galata Lodge. It's a historic building that puts on performances every day. Go early so you actually get a seat with a good view. The performance lasts more than an hour and it's interesting, but if you have a hard time sitting still like me, you'll get tired of it after ten minutes. Pro tip: If you are bored of this performance, try to pick one guy and focus on them to see if they make any funny facial expressions as they whirl around.
  • The exhibition is not extremely informative for the people unfamiliar with sufism, but the devishes' perfomance is truly amazing and one of a kind experience. Highly recommended
  • It is a newly overhauled Museum. Any one interested in Sufism should visit the place and the exhibition. The Lodge is located in the Tünel Area in a large splendid garden. So if you take a walk down from Taksim to Galata Tower, it could prove wise to flee in this peaceful Museum and its garden to get a rest.
  • I love to go
