  • It is a museum showcasing the medieval Museum of mawlawi religion religious paraphernalia. And not many tourists because it is a small museum located in what was stopping on the way. I think it is good because it located a few minutes walk from the terminus station of the tunnel are interested in life in the middle ages, religion.

  • Examined only from the outside. Got late and the next day had already departed. This is the home of the Whirling Dervishes. The House of one of the currents of Islam. Originally built in the 13rd century. Then destroyed, rebuilt, closed and opened as a museum. Is at the beginning of Istiklal Street.

  • The largely unknown Islamic faith branch of the Dervishes (they even say Mawlawi) is explained here in a small museum. Found information on the teaching of literature, to the dances (the trance to create God and closer to be the souls of deceased), religious items and the turban. Anyone who reads through the English explanations, is far smarter than 99% of humanity.

  • If you want a unique cultural experience, buy tickets to see the Whirling Dervishes perform at the Galata Lodge. It's a historic building that puts on performances every day. Go early so you actually get a seat with a good view. The performance lasts more than an hour and it's interesting, but if you have a hard time sitting still like me, you'll get tired of it after ten minutes. Pro tip: If you are bored of this performance, try to pick one guy and focus on them to see if they make any funny facial expressions as they whirl around.
  • Bring a small towel, and wash your feet. A perfect place to rest and cool your feet after or before walking Taksim + Istanbul. Connect at this small retreat by washing your feet at the fountain.
  • Nice bir not as expected
  • Nice place to visit
  • The exhibition is not extremely informative for the people unfamiliar with sufism, but the devishes' perfomance is truly amazing and one of a kind experience. Highly recommended
