  • This small House Museum owned by the brotherhood of the Dancing Dervishes, Mevlevi. It is located near the Istiklal Street. In the yard there is a cemetery of sheikhs kind Mevlevi. In the Museum there is the library, the exhibition of personal belongings of the brothers of the order, the ritual room. The ritual is performed on Sunday. He fascinates. Dervishes are spinning in the same place as the wound. Thus they pray.

  • This museum brings one closer to the culture of the Dervishes. This is a place of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of the city! Visit the Dervish ceremony, and in the basement enjoy the poetry of the Mevlevi - a must for people interested in culture.

  • This style are ready before preliminary information very useful. This is a rule that applies to every place to visit but I meant a little more in-depth knowledge. Mevlevi order, mysticism, Tashi music. Galata Mevlevihanesini reading a little about Sheikh before it's a good idea to read the winner, but then you can touch the soul of the place. A "hamuşan" section interest me all the time.

  • If you want a unique cultural experience, buy tickets to see the Whirling Dervishes perform at the Galata Lodge. It's a historic building that puts on performances every day. Go early so you actually get a seat with a good view. The performance lasts more than an hour and it's interesting, but if you have a hard time sitting still like me, you'll get tired of it after ten minutes. Pro tip: If you are bored of this performance, try to pick one guy and focus on them to see if they make any funny facial expressions as they whirl around.
  • Bring a small towel, and wash your feet. A perfect place to rest and cool your feet after or before walking Taksim + Istanbul. Connect at this small retreat by washing your feet at the fountain.
  • Nice bir not as expected
  • Nice place to visit
  • The exhibition is not extremely informative for the people unfamiliar with sufism, but the devishes' perfomance is truly amazing and one of a kind experience. Highly recommended
