Emirgan Park, Istanbul

4.5
#4 of 67 in Parks in Istanbul
Walk through Emirgan Park, one of the largest public parks in the city, or stop for a traditional Ottoman meal. Nestled in an urban setting, this oasis stretches over hills and among sparkling lakes. Its collection of plants includes more than 120 species, such as Himalayan cedar, Norway spruce, and Colorado white fir. Its lengthy jogging tracks and picnic tables make it a popular destination among the locals and it hosts annual international tulip festivals. Here you'll also see a traditional Ottoman house, a 19th-century wooden mansion, and a neoclassical-style restaurant. Emirgan Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Istanbul Edition.

  • You are lucky if you get into April in Istanbul. In April in Istanbul Tulip Festival. Across the city, thousands of blooming tulips and in parks you can see the huge floral carpets. The most colorful and large carpets are creating in the Emirgan Park located on the shores of the Bosphorus. Every year you can see the new design carpets and floral compositions. In this park you can relax, drink coffee or bring food and have a picnic, here everything is arranged for this purpose. Children can have fun on perfectly arranged playground. You can also enjoy a panoramic view of the Bosphorus and make lots of beautiful pictures. In the neighborhood of Emirgan Park is a private Museum of fine arts Sakypa Sabanzhi. The Museum is housed in a beautiful building on the hill with a beautiful park.

  • Beautiful park for family....at the top of the park there is a cafeteria with reasonable prices.. It's good to enter the park from the top side and walk through the park until the bottom...
  • Head a full of Tulips! A must go places when you visit Istanbul during spring season.
  • It's an amazing place during Tulips festival. But you have to know about traffic on the way to. It takes approximately 2 hours to get to and same time to get out to the closest tram station.
  • It is an amazing garden . It is a piece of art in the tulip festival month April, no one must cancel it from the April's schedule.
  • In central restaurant they ask me 25$ for filling my kettle with hot water for making tea. I found other place for asking hot water until I found for 5$.
