Emirgan Park, Istanbul

4.6
#3 of 82 in Parks in Istanbul
Walk through Emirgan Park, one of the largest public parks in the city, or stop for a traditional Ottoman meal. Nestled in an urban setting, this oasis stretches over hills and among sparkling lakes. Its collection of plants includes more than 120 species, such as Himalayan cedar, Norway spruce, and Colorado white fir. Its lengthy jogging tracks and picnic tables make it a popular destination among the locals and it hosts annual international tulip festivals. Here you'll also see a traditional Ottoman house, a 19th-century wooden mansion, and a neoclassical-style restaurant. Emirgan Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , world travel planner Edition.

  • Emirgan Park is one of the biggest but also enjoyable parks of Istanbul. It indeed is all colorful and green in Spring and Summer. With a sea view of the Bosphorus and a restaurant at the top of the.....  more »
  • Park is huge and I would like to visit it once when tulips are blooming here around. In winter time there are many birds and walking around is nice.  more »

  • Terrific tulip park on the northern side of Istanbul on the European side! The park contains many varieties and arrangements of flowers, as well as many places for families and kids to play and picnic. Several cafes also dot the park. On the southwest corner, there is a small but interesting tulip museum. Highly recommend!
  • Very beautiful place for a walk and relaxation. I have visited it at 29 of April and still most of the tulips were still blossoming - but some were already gone. I would suggest the second week of April for someone who wants to see all of them blossom in their full glory... It is really worth a visit when you are in Istanbul...
  • It could be the best park in Istanbul. Full of with tulips and places for picnic. If you wanna enjoy the sea view, you can go there. There is also restaurant for breakfast but you should be quick because it gets crowded easily.
  • If you are in Istanbul and looking for a picnic place, you can definitely come to Emirgan Park. Best time to visit, I'll say around March or early April. I came here at the end of April, and sadly most of the tulips and the flowers are died down and dried. It'll be a good option to come on a sunny day, since it's near to the coast, it'll be a little bit chilly on the afternoon. If you don't like the crowd, then it'll be wise to avoid weekends and holidays. I believe they don't charge any entry fee. And, since it's free & crowded, it's a little bit dirty on the pine forest area. The park also has a restaurant and a small food stall. It also provides a good playground for children. A very good choice if you decided to bring a family.
  • An amazing place to visit. You can enjoy good breakfast (85 TL for 2 people) together with incredible colours and aroma from flowers. Entry to the park is free.
