Eminonu Pier, Istanbul

4.1
#73 of 1,406 in Things to do in Istanbul
Visit Eminonu Pier to experience traditional fish sandwiches prepared on the restaurant boats docked here--they're known nationwide. Sit on a bench as you eat, and take in the views of the ferries coming and going and the nearby mosque. The pier is walking distance from many attractions in the old city, but is also accessible by tram or taxi. Use it as a starting point for exploring the Galata Bridge or for touring the areas of the Spice Market and Grand Bazaar. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Eminonu Pier and many more Istanbul attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Istanbul vacation builder site.

  • The Bosphorus is one of he world's best-known waterways. We took a cruise on the Bosphorus from Eminonu Pier, it was well worthwhile. Eminonu Pier is crowded with travelers when the ferries are...  more »
  • We went to this pier two times during our 2 visits of Turkey. One to catch a short public ferry from Eminonu to Uskudar and second time to catch the Sehir Hatlari ferry for short Bosphorus tour...  more »

  • Excellent place. Nice view in both daylight and night time. At evening you can grab a tuna sandwich and enjoy it's taste while boats ferry past you.
  • I'm sure this place has enough reviews to give an idea about it. I just wanted to review to tell that I appreciate the image that's chosen right now. Although I was just walking by numerous times around there on my last visit to Istanbul, that picture made me wanna be there. But nothing dramatic, it's just a nice view is all.
  • Great cheap service to go in between the 2 side of the city. Also the view is amazing! Must try the experience
  • Good port for taking a ferry, it's convenient and pretty cheap. Why to pay a tourist boat when you can take a public transport boat for a few lira... We took a boat to prince island from there, it was also much cheaper than taking all these special boat (but it took over 1h to go there with a handful of stop). If you want to go to prince island, take the earliest boat and don't come back too late too.
  • We wanted Bosporus cruise. It was one among the wish list. To explore and see the water that divides Asia from Europe. To see the rich houses on the banks and to enjoy the much heard fish sandwiches.
