Corlulu Ali Pasa Medresesi, Istanbul

4.3
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Grand Bazaar, taste traditional Turkish tea and coffee, and meditate through the aromatic smoke of hookahs at Corlulu Ali Pasa Medresesi. Situated inside a historical building that was once a religious school and a dervish lodge, the cafe offers an authentic Turkish atmosphere. Notice the hundreds of multicolored glass lamps, walls adorned with kilims, and ornamental hookahs (or "nargile" in Turkish). The cafe's popularity with tourists and locals, as well as city cats, makes it crowded at times. It maintains the old Turkish way of relaxing, so don't be surprised if some non-traditional drinks are unavailable. • Very hidden but this very character. You immerse yourself in an oriental world and turns off from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect to round off the evening.

  • Incredibly colorful place, almost no tourists, mostly local. Only menu, Hookah, tea, coffee and water. Hookah is a delicious and very sturdy. I advise to visit all the atmosphere amazing, no pathos, very noisy and smoky. A lot of people came in the evening, we barely found a table. Find the easiest channel on the map, because the sign is very small, is a short distance from the Grand Bazaar. If you want to feel the real atmosphere of Istanbul, go here!

  • Found the place for reviews! Very neprimetnee outside, because the entrance looks like the entrance to the old crypt. Colorful place, East. There hookahs and tea (can even coffee, just the menu apparently they don't have). Hookah cost 25 YTL. Good Hookah, make very quickly fit not changing coals raskurivajut (but if they see that not to cope, help pump!))) but it seemed to us, we've tasted better do more.

  • Great place to have some hooka and tea. No food available though so dont go their when hungry but great ambiance.
  • Good local place. Nargilas are not bad, but the place is usually very crowded and not comfortable to seat.
  • Best shisha. Delicious. Great charcoal.
  • Second place on the left is the best place in there , trust me its a truly authentic shisha experience with the best turkish coffee around.
