  • Great experience! A must if you enjoy local food even if you don’t like to cook. Ayşın Ekinci is an experienced chef who will take you into the neighborhood’s food stores, bakeries, butcheries where she buys her produce while explaining the history of the area and the origins of culinary traditions. After chai (Turkish tea) and just bought pastries you will be introduced to the delicacies of the Ottoman, Anatolian and Istambul in a hand in class. Well explained, easy to prepare and very professonally set, at the end you will enjoy the meal you just prepared. We had a wonderful time.

  • Great late shopping and cooking. The course is not limited to the recipes, which also has them, but to introduce you in a fuller way in Turkish cuisine. First, guided tour around the neighborhood to discover how to understand food, daily food, the origins of Turkish cuisine and all its elements. We visit from a store of offal to a gourmet supermarket, a bakery with wonderful pasta and an oven on the ground for that fantastic handmade ethereal bread, to a store of artichokes or pumpkins. Then, in the wonderful house of the teacher, we could rest, taste some delicacies and get into flour and prepare up to six Turkish dishes, secillos, tasty and easy to play at home. I loved this experience because I felt I was beginning to understand something more than what you can see if you're just a tourist. Warm welcome, all sorts of wonderful explanations and flavors when we were able to try all our dishes at dinner. The course is in English, another good reason to do it and practice a little. In our case we share the evening with two English participants and another Indian participant, which makes it even more interesting. A great adventure highly recommended.
