  • I wanted to try something new while in vacation and ended up into taking a cooking class with Leyla and Rocco: it turned out to be the highlight of my Turkish Vacation! Rocco and his team are very knowledgeable. We prepared together five different and tasty meals of the Turkish cousin. They made us part of all the preparation process with enthusiasm and passion. I had such a lovely time I didn’t even realise it was already time to taste the product of our efforts. The meals were delicious, all thanks to the competent instructions of Rocco and his team. I would highly recommend to take a cooking class with them. You will learn having fun in a very pleasant environment. My boyfriend was a complete fool and decided not to join me but he regretted it as soon as he saw my smile and pictures. Rocco and Leyla were so nice and generous that even let me bring him some food home so that he could taste it and regret again not having come. Thank you so much for the lovely time guys!
  • I have attended the cooking class at cooking Alaturca. Rocco, Leyla and the Chef know how to bring up knowledge, taste and passion in the kitchen. This is a great way to learn about secrets of the Turkish cuisine and get tips that nowhere else you will find. We had a great experience and ate the meal prepared by the help of the Chef. Worth the money!! I would definitely go back for more.
  • We took the Two Continents food walking tour with Leyla our first day in Istanbul. It was an experience not to be missed - especially as an introduction to Istanbul. We sampled food all day and learned what, how, and where to order! Leyla was charming, funny, and a delightful guide. She was a wonderful resource for all our eating and shopping needs, during and even days after the tour! It's amazing how much you can learn about a culture and people through its food. Highly recommended!
  • We are a couple from New Zealand and we did our cooking class on a friday night! The experience was so much more than our expectations. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and joyful. They were extremely easy to communicate with, the steps were easy to follow and the food was delicious. We had so much fun! We made 5 course meals from fresh, organic ingredients and at the end, we were able to enjoy the meals as if it was a provate top class restaurant. I’d definitely recommend this if you are looking for some unique, exciting experience in Istanbul!
  • My daughter and I attended a cooking lesson at Alaturka last night. It ended up being an intimate class for 2 of us due to a last minute cancellation and one guest getting the date wrong . It was a fun evening where it felt like we were chatting and cooking with family and friends . Rocco , Leyla and Naźli were an absolute delight to spend 4 hours with. Rocco is the chef and gave us the what and why of our recipes, while Naźli was the real star in the kitchen who made chopping & cooking a lot of fun. Leyla was always there answering questions and helping along as well as showing us how to stuff a fig ! Some of the recipes were more technical than others, but the flavors were always clean. I would definitely recommend anyone coming to Istanbul to do this course as it helps understand the city and it’s obsession with food ! Leyla runs food tours and is very knowledgeable about not only the history of food but also the authentic places serving authentic food in Istanbul. She was very generous in giving us advice on where to go and what to order for the rest of our time in Istanbul and we are glad we met her!
