Where to stay in Istanbul

The bustling downtown core of old Istanbul is the popular choice among tourists wanting a short walking distance to the city's biggest attractions. Here you'll find hostel-style accommodations and reasonably priced and traditionally decorated hotels, as well as bed and breakfasts and inns with views overlooking the sea. Though often the most affordable, accommodations in the old city can be very overrun with tourists and street solicitors. If you seek a more relaxed stay, consider lodging near Taksim Square. This new, trendy neighborhood is a short 15-20 minute ride from the old city, but puts you closer to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Though the newer area of the city is a bit more upscale, you'll also find moderately priced hotels and some hostels. Look for luxury hotels in the western suburbs close to the airport, overlooking the banks of Bosphorus.

  • Food was amazing! We had different starters all of them were super tasty. I had a different kebap than usual, with soaked bread in butter under thin beef slices. So good! My friends had some nice fish as well. Even with barely speaking English the service was really good, they were super nice to us :)
  • Charming place I had a decent dinner. Honest food. Good price
  • It is nice place with a great ambience to enjoy mezes, kebabs and sea food. Avoid weekend evenings as it is overcrowded.
  • The athmosphere in the building is really different. It is one of the Istanbul, and if you are not worring about normally overpriced dishes and drinks (even for lokals) do try to one of the restaurants inside and enjoy delicious sea food dishes, beer and raki. If you are alone advise you to ask the price for every item you order and note them down, later compare with the receipt.
  • One of the most important icon in istiklal street. While you can eat fish and drink rakı, at the same time you can listen Turkish music as live
