Immerse yourself in ancient Turkish tradition at Cagaloglu Hamami. The historical Istanbul bathhouse opened in 1741, making it the last hamam built in the Ottoman Empire before the practice of opening new baths was abandoned. The work of renowned architects, it features authentic Ottoman design and offers a range of rejuvenating treatments, from self-service to massages and scrubs at the hands of experienced personnel. After some pampering, check out the shop, which sells traditional Turkish bathing products. This is a traditional bath, and male and female sections are strictly separated. • This place was AMAZING! I come from the city of Spas Miami. And this place was incredible, I was treated like a king for 4 hours. It was my last day in Istanbul and was looking for an authentic Hamam, and did I find one! From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left, I was royalty. I was given my own small dressing room, with a lock, a robe, slippers, towel, etc. I chose the best package, and it truly was worth every penny. You’re first taken to a small room and ‘cleansed’ with warm water running from a golden faucet and marble bowl. After you have done that for about 10 minutes, you are brought some water to drink or tea. Then you are taken to an area to continue your cleansing process, with mud then a light scrub all over your body. After that is done, you are taken to a large warm marble slab in the middle of the entire room, and massaged and scrubbed with a special soap. After that, you are dried, and wrapped in a warm towel like a burrito. Then you are taken to this waiting area with Turkish teas and goodies, fruits, candies, nuts, etc. (They feed it to you!) then you are taken to the massage room and I kid you not, it was truly one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Loved this place! It was clean, it was professional, and it was an experience I’ll always think about.
  • Really great facility and service. The price definitely reflects the quality but didn't think it was overpriced. However the scrub and the massage felt a little short but my friends one went on for longer so it depends on the person. Would definitely recommend it to visitors to Istanbul looking for a luxurious hamam experience.
  • Amazing and relaxing experience! I went with my husband who also thought it was very relaxing. Probably more pricey than other Hamamı but very well worth it: clean, legit (nothing shady about it), you have your own room to lock your belongings and staff were super nice.
  • A great place to experience the Turkish baths - the high prices are aimed at tourists but it's luxurious and you're really well looked after. Staff are friendly and the place is very well kept considering how old it is. The scrubbing is pretty aggressive but you'll see the results immediately. A nice way to relax at the end of a busy trip.
  • I rated it 4 out of 5 because of the price. I was there yesterday with a German guest of mine, we had really good time. The service was quite well, we were hosted and served pretty good. We met and talked to some Israeli people in the bath, too! It is really worth visiting, especially in cold wheather (winter), however you need to be aware of the high prices.
