  • A field suitable for hiking and camping. In food and recreational facilities available. The people who escaped from the rat race of İstanbul over the weekend generates little İstanbul. Don't go on the weekend would be as miserable, the smell of barbecue kapılırsanız the mistake of walking. The rope Knight and young people will have to witness the flood movements.

  • Belgrad Forest, the easternmost tip of Çatalca peninsula, located on the European side of İstanbul province, naturally occurring trees in this area. Green area to be admired.

  • Nice place to visit if you want to get away from the city's hassle n bustle. A few routes for hiking and cycling. A lot of picknick areas. Even saw 1 tent across the lake, but not aware of the details of camping there. 2 lakes/dams. Quite a lot of rubbish around though, particularly on the paths and by the lakes. Which really ruins the atmosphere. There's a place just down the road before the gate that rents bicycles and does tours on cycles and ATVs.
  • A place to breathe in Istanbul, which gradually loses its green spaces. Suitable for family gatherings and plans with friends. Especially if you have kids, you should watch them carefully. Because the forest is enormous and a young kid may lose his/her way. Yet, keep in mind that the officers of the forest regularly patrol the whole area by their motocycles for these kinds of situations as well.
  • Wonderful quiet place in a huge City like Istanbul... To visit during the week... Not the weekends.
  • Forest is nice. But it's the dirtiest forest I've seen in my life. I still feel bad after walking day. Because I saw a 100 times how turks throw garbage, even in town, even if the bin is next to them. I like turks, Turkey and I like Istanbul. And this I really don't understand. Maybe it's shoud be control by the law.
  • The star is for the beautiful nature, people really ruined this place with the smoke of barbecuing...I kept sneezing all the time because of the smoke. I could barley see the forest. If you have asthma STAY AWAY!

Where to stay in Istanbul

The bustling downtown core of old Istanbul is the popular choice among tourists wanting a short walking distance to the city's biggest attractions. Here you'll find hostel-style accommodations and reasonably priced and traditionally decorated hotels, as well as bed and breakfasts and inns with views overlooking the sea. Though often the most affordable, accommodations in the old city can be very overrun with tourists and street solicitors. If you seek a more relaxed stay, consider lodging near Taksim Square. This new, trendy neighborhood is a short 15-20 minute ride from the old city, but puts you closer to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Though the newer area of the city is a bit more upscale, you'll also find moderately priced hotels and some hostels. Look for luxury hotels in the western suburbs close to the airport, overlooking the banks of Bosphorus.
