  • 2 nd visit. Atmosphere and is a favourite area. This rain could postpone the dare go. Walking the narrow streets while watching a nice cafe, old mosque was a valuable experience of the common tourist. I took photo in the area lined with colorful houses. Recent visitors has increased, there is also a souvenir shop. Too much security in the past look bad and seems fine, but like was said now that visit during the day if. We'd better stop with just wrote the last met, the local people are invited to go. You can go easy on ferries. Keep this mind when you walk because the road is narrow but quite heavy traffic.

  • One must differentiate clearly! Especially the two Paralellstraßen to the large main road at the Bosphurus along approximately of the Greek Patriarchate, the Greek school, until the two synagogues are very interesting. Here, the Balat and Fener really has a unique selling point in Istanbul. Totally cool bars, and an area where there are to explore much. But if it comes down off of these streets close to the Bosphurus, it comes in a really poor area where you feel really uncomfortable. Ungangssprachlich spoken here also by the road of the fundamentalists and in fact it feels slightly uncomfortable. The residents have little in common with the cosmopolitan Istanbulern and the secular neighborhoods in Istanbul! Bottom line: Definitely worth seeing, especially all the churches in the area, as well as the great of local. Explore the complete district, however, I would advise off before that. We have done it and not here would be 2 points to give... I found countless great photo opportunities in the district...
